Great math!

Did you notice the new button on the side of my blog?  It looks like the big pink flower at the top of this post.

There have been a lot of offerings in blog-land of late.  There is lots of activity going on and all of it sounds fun.  A girl can only do so much...so I chose to play along with this one.  You can read all about it over here

For the record, the only reason I chose this project over all of the others was because the little boy benefiting from the sale of patterns is named Jack.   The name rang a sweet bell in my heart and I was hooked.
Baby Jack and his best bud Took

I guess I am a tad shallow....but I do like that my $15 will help  someone. In honor of the Jacks I've chosen fun fabrics.  Wanna see?  I know you do.

The project calls for a dark, medium, and a light.  My picks....
  • Dark = orange.
    •   Garden Party, Orange Zig Zag by Dear Stella
  • Medium = blue.
    •  A Fun Day in the Jungle, Light Blue Sketched Circles by Studio 37 for Marcus Brothers
  • Light = white.
    •    The Circus, Multi Banner Circle by Robert Kaufman
I also picked up the binding and backing at the same time.

  • Binding = red.
    •   Town and Country, Tiny Diamonds by Dear Stella
  • Backing = lions!
    • The Circus, White Lions by Robert Kaufman
I love the little lions and that their manes are circles of banners.  How cute is that!

Now, I would be remiss if I didn't share the fact that the most awesome on-line fabric shop on the planet has joined in the fun.  If you join the party you get a coupon for 20% off a one time purchase good until December 14, 2012 from Fat Quarter Shop.  There is nothing to say that you couldn't purchase more fabric than you need for the mystery quilt, or that you have to use it for the mystery quilt at all.  Just saying.....for $15 you get $20 off a $100 purchase and $10 goes to help a kid with cancer.  I like the way that math works.

The party starts this Friday, October 5....go check it out.

Hi all, I miss spoke. Jack, the boy doesn't have cancer. He has a brain tumor. Funny, if I were his mom that wouldn't really make me feel any better. Strangers who want to help my boy would. Come join the fun.

Sounds like a great cause but I think I'll pass -- I just have way too much on the go and in the pipeline!
