Ta-da
Made this little quilt top over the weekend. Using a skinny jelly roll of Oh-Cherry-oh, I sewed the 1.5" strips skinny end for skinny end, then sewed it in half along the long side over and over until it was the shape I wanted. I added the turquoise border to contain the motion. All I need now is some backing material, and a little girl to give it to.
What do you think of the idea of adding a big appliquéd cherry to the front? Something like this.

This mini is the result of my "Lips" tutorial. I put off quilting it because I knew the center would be a bugger. It was, but I don't think it looks too bad....
unless you take a close look at the back. Who would be rude enough to do that?! This is why I don't usually free motion quilt.
I knew I was going to be a bit short on the binding. I added some pieces of red from the same fabric line, Cornucopia by Fig Tree for Moda. I almost wish more of it showed. Isn't it funny how you don't really notice it on the front of the quilt. The mind must fill in that little bit of color.
I'm not sure where this little quilt will end up, but I wouldn't be surprised if I sent it to a swap partner one day.

Both quilts look lovely and I think that cherry application is a great idea! It really adds that little something extra and makes it extra special. I know a "little" girl you could give it to ;-)
I agree that the cherry is a nice addition. It's a pretty quilt. The mini is nice too.
Lovely quilts. The cherry would be a great addition.
